Quantitative aminoacid analysis is a useful tool in the characterization of recombinant proteins and antibodies, according to ICH Q6B. This analysis is based on acid hydrolysis and then all the proteinogenic aminoacids present in eukaryotic and genetically encoded organisms are quantified, with the exception of tryptophan (Trp) and cysteine (Cys), which are degraded during the hydrolysis process. Furthermore, asparagine (Asn) and glutamine (Gln) are quantified as aspartic acid (Asp) and glutamic acid (Glu) respectively.
Taking advantage of the extensive knowledge of our scientists in mass spectrometry techniques, AMSbiopharma have developed a new mass spectrometry methodology for the determination of underivatized aminoacids by tandem mass spectrometry in MRM mode. This methodology allows a sensitive and selective determination without any derivatization pre-treatment according to ICH Q6B.
